Jottey vs Gong: what happened vs what to do
Gong tells you what happened on the call. Jottey tells you what to do while it's still happening. That's the whole comparison, and everything else follows from it.
They're not really the same product. Gong is a revenue-intelligence platform for a sales organization. Jottey is a live copilot for the rep on the call. You can run both. But if you're choosing where a dollar or an hour of attention goes, the split is clean.
The one-line difference
Gong records the call, transcribes it, analyzes it, and surfaces insight afterward: deal risk, coaching flags, forecast signal across the team. It's a rear-view mirror, and a very good one, built for managers and RevOps.
Jottey is in the call with you. It listens live, tells you what to ask next, flags the objection you're about to fumble, and tracks whether you're actually hitting the goals you set for this conversation. It's a windshield, built for the person driving.
| Jottey | Gong | |
|---|---|---|
| When it helps | During the call | After the call |
| Who it's for | The rep, live | Managers, RevOps, the org |
| In the meeting | Invisible overlay, no bot | Bot joins and records |
| Core value | Change the call you're on now | Understand every call later |
| Team size | Solo rep and up | Built for 50+ rep orgs |
| Setup | Desktop app, minutes | Platform rollout |
Where Gong wins, plainly
If you run a large sales org, Gong is still the standard for a reason. Nothing here beats it at forecasting, deal boards, cross-team call analytics, or systematic coaching at scale. If your question is "which of my 80 reps is slipping and why," that's Gong, not Jottey, and it isn't close.
Gong also has years of enterprise trust, integrations, and a visible-bot recording model that compliance teams already understand. That matters in a regulated sales org.
Where Jottey wins
Gong can tell a rep, on Thursday, that Tuesday's call went sideways at the pricing conversation. Jottey helps the rep not blow the pricing conversation on Tuesday. Post-call intelligence improves the next call. Live coaching improves this one.
Jottey also fits the person Gong wasn't built for: the individual seller, the small team, the founder still doing sales. No platform rollout, no bot in the room, no enterprise contract. Just help on the call you're about to take.
They're actually complementary
The honest take: a big org can run Gong for org-wide intelligence and give reps Jottey for in-the-moment help. They answer different questions. The mistake is expecting Gong to help you during the call, or expecting Jottey to be your forecasting system. Neither is trying to be the other.
Bottom line
- Choose Gong if you're an enterprise that needs to understand and coach a whole team over time.
- Choose Jottey if you're a rep or a small team that wants help in the call, right now.
- Run both if you're a larger org that wants after-the-call intelligence and in-the-call coaching.
